Paolo Conforto received the M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering in 1998 and PhD in System Engineering in 2003, both from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”.

In the 1998 he received a post-degree grant from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” – Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica and worked in the scope of several ACTS (Advanced Communication Technologies and Services) projects funded by the European Union.

Since March 1999 he works in Thales Alenia Space Italia where he has taken care of the technical coordination and has performed R&D activity in several projects funded by the European Union and European Space Agency in the areas of satellite communication systems and worked as System Engineer in several commercial and institutional initiatives.

Until 2018 he held the position of Head of “Advanced Projects” Unit in the “Engineering and Advanced Projects” Unit of Thales Alenia Space – Italia

He is currently Project Design Authority in the “Products & Solutions Engineering” Unit of Domain Telecommunication Italy for military and institutional  satellite communication systems.
